i began working on this album in november of 2022 when i was struggling after the passing of my cat archie. making these tracks helped me cope with it and other personal dissatisfactions. i also began listening a lot more frequently to different music and records which helped me cope and keep working on my own record and kind of opened a door in me which i feel kind of saved me. in december i felt content with the album and decided to wrap things up but just this autumn i looked back at it and decided to fix some things. the first version of "no scenery" was ear-piercing and a few other tracks in the album were far longer than what i felt was necessary so i hopped back in garageband to fix some mastering and mistakes, etc and also recorded "aldebaran"

the things that greatly influenced this album is the period in my life across 2022 of trying too hard to change my perspective on the world to something much more positive and not realising that all it did was make me lose parts of myself and go psycho and completely rely on ease, positivity and complacency all of the time. I have thankfully gotten over that fucked up terrible phase but just as i was starting to recover from that period, my cat archie sadly passed away which was shortly before i began working on this album.
